If during the install, uninstall or modify a software program displays an error message stating that Windows Installer is missing, damaged or must be registered to follow the next steps to resolve the problem:
- Check if the file msiexec.exe is present in the folder C:\windows \ system32
- Via Start - Run - regedit to open the editor of the registers and place the entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSIServer
- Check that the right panel is present ImagePath with value C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe / V
- Restart the computer in Safe Mode and run from Start – Run the command msiexec / regserver
- Restart your computer
If the problem persists, try reinstalling Windows Installer download the latest version from Microsoft's website.
