One among the many incomprehensible features of Windows Vista and when you click the shutdown button that is set to "Hibernate", the same behavior even with the classic menu. Fortunately, however, Microsoft programs have given us the opportunity to change this option, here's how: Control Panel - Power Options - Specify setting off the screen - Change advanced power settings. Then set "Shutdown" in "Start menu power button" as shown by the image.
