The symptoms to see if a computer is infected with virus may be many or none, below we present a list that summarizes the main:
- Opening unsolicited-unexpected applications and web sites (internet explorer, etc)
- Opening unsolicited-unexpected images (photos), music
- Notifications from the firewall to unknown programs that require internet access
- The system of windows update not working
- The antivirus online sites are not accessible
- In the task manager there are unknown programs and/or with names consisting of random characters (verified with process library if you have doubts)
- Automatically running programs in windows startup are not required or unknown
- On your USB pen drive are hidden files that you have not copied
- On your credit card (VisaElectron, Mastercard, etc.) there are no objections made by you
- Friends say you that receive strange email from your address
- Friends receive photos and/or programs (most likely the virus) from your user chat messenger MSN, Yahoo, etc.
If at least one of these symptoms is most likely your computer is infected. Take immediate action to scan the computer. As mentioned at the beginning we may not be symptoms because some viruses are limited to take your personal data (password, PIN, username, etc.) without being heard.
